Dr. Marsha Kline Pruett, is the Maconda Brown O’Connor Professor at Smith College School for Social Work. She is an American Psychological Association Board Diplomate in Couple and Family Psychology (2011). Her clinical and research interests revolve around the promotion of healthy family development during life transitions. Dr. Kline Pruett was awarded the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts’ Stanley Cohen Award for Distinguished Research for her psycho-legal research in the Connecticut courts. Her books include Your Divorce Advisor: A Lawyer and a Psychologist Guide You through the Legal and Emotional Landscape of Divorce (2001) and Partnership Parenting: How Men and Women Parent Differently and Why it Helps Your Kids and Can Strengthen Your Marriage (2009). She is currently involved in curriculum development, intervention, consultation and research programs regarding father involvement in the child welfare system, parenting coordination, translating new research regarding early childhood experience and its relationship to later mental health outcomes, and service provision in family courts. She speaks regularly nationally and abroad, trains mental health and legal professionals, and has serves as commentator on radio and television news.
